HISTORY AND MISSION STATEMENT

Farmers and Merchants Bank was chartered in 1946 by a group of local businessmen. The stock was bought by local farmers & businessmen. Most of our stock is presently owned by the children and grandchildren of those early investors.

We continue to be a local independent bank serving Screven and surrounding counties. Our mission is to protect our depositors while providing a reasonable return to our shareholders and provide employment to a number of our local citizens. We strive to accomplish these goals by meeting the financial needs of our community.
